Who designed the Ease Chair?
The chair was designed in collaboration with Mr and Mrs White, a minimalist furniture brand based in the Northern Rivers of NSW. Assembly Label have been partnering with the duo since 2015, when they were commissioned to create the joinery for the brand’s first store in Bondi. This collaboration marks a natural evolution of that partnership — built on mutual values of simplicity, utility, and thoughtful design.
What inspired the design?
The Ease Chair is a testament to slow, minimalist design and quality craftsmanship. The design nods to the simplicity and functionality of camp chairs — pieces that are effortless, lightweight, and built for comfort.
Is this chair part of a limited run?
The Ease Chair is an exclusive piece and will be available to pre-order in limited runs. Pre-order will open on the 10th of June.
What materials is the chair made from?
The chair is crafted from just two materials: solid oak and heavyweight natural cotton canvas, both thoughtfully chosen to reflect the essence of each respective brand. The oak brings structure and longevity, with its clean vertical and horizontal lines offering a sense of strength and simplicity. In contrast, the canvas introduces a relaxed, tactile element that softens the form and adds a lived-in warmth.
Where and how is the chair made?
The chair is crafted by hand in the Northern Rivers.
How should I care for or clean the chair?
Customers will receive a care manual for the chair with their purchase, which will come inside the box. This will cover the care and maintenance for both the timber and canvas elements of the chair.
Does The Ease Chair qualify for free shipping?
As this chair is considered a bulky item, a flat shipping fee of $80 will apply at checkout for online and in store orders.
Can I purchase the chair in-store?
Yes, customers will be able to purchase the Ease Chair in all Assembly Label boutiques throughout Australia. The chair will be shipped directly to their preferred delivery address.
Can I return the chair due to change of mind?
If you change your mind and wish to return the chair, it must be returned in new condition, unassembled, and in its original packaging to be eligible for a refund or store credit. Please note that a return shipping fee of $80 will be deducted from your refund or store credit once the return is received and inspected. We recommend carefully considering your purchase before assembling the item, as returns cannot be accepted if the chair has been put together or is no longer in its original condition.
